Vision
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion’s vision is for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to be a place where all people are valued, welcomed, and feel they can fully participate in the academic, research, and community engagement mission of the university.
Mission
The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion’s mission is to guide the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in its efforts to create a campus community that is welcoming, accessible, and equitable for all.
Overarching Goals
We strive to engage the campus through our overarching goals to:
- Lead collaborations to reimagine approaches to increase access and opportunities in education, research, employment, business opportunities, and community engagement.
- Reduce barriers for all to engage fully with Illinois.
- Enhance understanding and skills of students, staff, and faculty to promote inclusion.
- Align our resources with our overarching goals.
The hope for our work is to increase access to educational, research, employment, and business opportunities, for all people, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
