Dr. Gioconda (Gio) Guerra Pérez is the Executive Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, and as of June 2025 serves as the Interim Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Designee. She joined Illinois in 2013 as the Director of La Casa Cultural Latina and has overseen the daily operations of OVCDEI since 2018. She also has recently served as the university’s Undocumented Student Liaison, as required by State of Illinois statute.
