Role of the ADA Coordinator
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign ADA Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the university’s accessibility and compliance efforts in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other applicable laws, in collaboration with campus partners. The ADA Coordinator provides oversight of disability/accessibility-related services provided by university departments and offices, and addresses reports of noncompliance, discrimination on the basis of disability, and barriers to access both in physical facilities and in digital/online contexts.
The ADA Coordinator addresses several kinds of reports and concerns:
- Report a Barrier
Use this form to let us know about accessibility barriers in the university’s programs, services, online resources, or physical facilities. Reports are received and addressed by the ADA Coordinator in conjunction with the relevant offices and stakeholders.
- Academic Accommodations Implementation Review
Use this form to report concerns regarding academic accommodations not being properly implemented in a class. Reports are received and addressed by the ADA Coordinator in conjunction with DRES and the relevant department/college.
- Disability Discrimination Complaints
Use this form to submit a report or complaint of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation on the basis of disability, including ADA/504 grievances. Reports are addressed by the Office for Access and Equity in consultation with the ADA Coordinator.
