Summer Program for Native High School Students

Job Descriptions

Summer Indigenous Pathways Resident Advisor

Undergrad Hourly $15 per hr.

We are seeking two RAs for the Indigenous Pathways summer program.

Serve as night/early morning monitor and facilitator in residence hall for participants of the Indigenous Pathways Program. This program will host Native high school students grades 10 – 12 for a campus visit June 22 – June 26, 2025. Represent the Indigenous Pathways Program and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Shift: 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Available for training the prior to the start of the program.
  • Overnight availability to be a resource for any needs or questions that arise while on-site.
  • Assisting visiting students with questions about the program, how to begin planning for college, and/or navigating campus in general.
  • Serving as the after-hours point of contact/liaison between guests, Program Coordinator and Program Director.
  • Ensure student safety, monitor student well-being, and enforce policies and procedures.

Summer Indigenous Pathways Mentor

Undergrad Hourly: $15 per hr.

We are seeking two daytime Mentors and two evening Mentors for the Indigenous Pathways summer program.

Function:

The Summer Mentor for the Indigenous Pathways Program serves as a peer mentor and guide to Native American high school students grades 10 – 12 participating in a summer campus visit June 22 – June 26, 2025.

Available Shifts:

  • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Work in tandem with the Program Director and Program Coordinator.
  • Guiding groups to/from various locations on campus during activities by walking or operating University vehicles.
  • Assist with familiarizing students with campus and answering questions about opportunities for involvement and enrichment.
  • Providing guidance and support for navigating campus resources.
  • Ensure student safety, monitor student well-being, and enforce policies and procedures.
  • Available for training prior to the start of the program.
