• Four Illinois Faculty and Staff to be Recognized for Dedication to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

  The Larine Y. Cowan Awards are presented annually to University of Illinois faculty and staff by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in four categories: Advocacy for LGBTQ Affairs, Excellence in Access & Accommodations, Leadership in Diversity, and Teaching and Mentoring in Diversity.

• First Call to Action Symposium Will Feature Ibram X. Kendi Keynote Conversation

  As part of a university-wide efforts on systemic racial inequities and injustices, research groups will present their findings from the first year of funding from the Chancellor’s Call to Action to Address Racism and Social Injustice.

• Announcing the Chancellor’s Call to Action Research Projects for 2022-23

  Chancellor Robert J. Jones announced the 2022-2023 Call to Action to Address Racism & Social Injustice Research Program recipients. The program is a $2 million annual commitment by our university.

• Broadening Inclusion Grant Recipients Announced

  Nominations are now open for the Emerging Women Leaders Forum. The group provides leadership development for early career professional women at Illinois who aspire to become organizational leaders.   The goal of the AccessLab@Illinois is to raise awareness about the importance of ergonomics in the workplace and to provide innovative and proactive accessibility services to employees across our campus.

• Master Naturalists advocate for diversity in ecosystems and volunteer program

  As part of its campus efforts, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is working with University of Illinois Extension to diversify its Master Naturalist program.

• First Class Graduates from Illinois Scholars Program

  The first cohort from the Illinois Scholars Program are graduating from the university.

• Updates to COVID-19 Testing to Accommodate Extended Religious Fasts

  A nasal swab test accommodation can be requested for students, faculty and staff who are participating in an extended religious fast.
